SkillsUSA State Winners

 

Three students from the Four Cities Compact earned medals at the 2012 State SkillsUSA competition held on April 27 & 28. The Compact had 14 students who competed in various competitions in healthcare, computers, job interview, job demonstration and more.

Business Management Student Places 5th in National Competition

Please join us in congratulating Business Management student Dragana Trifkovic (Barberton) for placing FIFTH IN THE NATION in Integrated Office Systems at the Business Professionals of America National Conference in Chicago! She competed against 50 other top students from across the country to earn this honor.

Nursing Juniors Visit Hospital

The Junior Advancement to Nursing class recently visited the Labor and Delivery unit at SUMMA Barberton Hospital.  The students visited both the delivery suite and nursery.  They were able to view a placenta with a fetal sac and observe an infant hearing test.

EDT Student Gets Internship

Congratulations to Rachael Stoner, 2008 Wadsworth High School and Four Cities Educational Compact’s Engineering Design & Technology graduate on obtaining an internship in Manhattan with Focus Lighting. Rachael is set to graduate, Magna Cum Laude, from Kent State with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Architecture this June

Barberton High School’s Advancement to Nursing student, Cassandra Neely, along with the rest of the nursing class and Pam Eaton, RN demonstrated hand washing to the Portage Elementary students. 

Masonry Students Win Competition

Norton High School’s masonry students are well on their way toward a successful career.

 

In a recent annual Christmas Masonry Contest sponsored by the Ohio Administrative District Council of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers, students in Don Begert’s masonry program won first place finishes in the masonry contest. The students competed with other schools throughout the entire state.

Senior Nursing Students Have 100% Passage on STNA Test

For the third year in a row, ALL senior students in the Advancement to Nursing program located at Barberton High School passed both the written and skilled exam and are now Certified State Tested Nurse Assistants!  Congratulations to our students and instructors as they continue to have great success in the program!

Public Safety Senior...Tomorrow’s 9-1-1 Dispatchers!

Senior students from Barberton, Copley, Norton and Wadsworth, are participating in 11 weeks of intensive emergency telecommunications training at Barberton High School. The Four Cities Educational Compact Public Safety Program, is a two-year career technical program housed at Barberton High School, instructed by Mr. Jeremy Milford.
