Diversified Med Tech students Flying High

Students in the Compact's new Diversified Medical Technologies Program (Wadsworth High School) recently had an awesome morning at the Wadsworth Municipal Airport learning about the Cleveland Clinic's Critical Care Transport operations. The students met with Wadsworth grad and Cleveland Clinic ICU nurse Justin Palitto to learn about the education and experience needed to work in medical transport. The students watched the helicopter return from a patient transport, and were then able to see the helicopter and hangar where staff are stationed in between runs. The fan favorite, though, was that students were able to experience flight themselves! Each student who wanted to fly was able to go on a 15-minute airplane flight! Students flew in groups of 2-3, and whoever sat up front even got to assist in flying the plane! We cannot say thank you enough to our pilot Bryon Palitto, the staff of Wadsworth Municipal Airport, Cleveland Clinic's Critical Care Transport Team, and Cleveland Clinic ICU RN Justin Palitto for providing such a fun educational experience! Way to go Med Tech and Mrs Reid! -we always knew you were high flyers!!
