Fire Safety Program Performs Training Activities

Recently, students in the Compact's Fire Safety Program (Barberton High School) were able to do some great training activities in Wadsworth! Instructor Tim McCurry led them through some team victim rescues, which began with an instructional walk through of some empty homes. Then students were broken into search and rescue teams and given scenarios to work through while applying the rules of their training. They practiced finding and removing mannequin victims first with full visibility, then wearing blackout visors (to simulate smoke filled room conditions). It was a fantastic learning experience and we would like to thank all our friends at the Wadsworth Fire Department, including recent program graduate Alec Vallant,  for their help with the training! Way to go Fire Safety students you make us COMPACT PROUD!
