Attendance

All Compact programs put a strong emphasis on sound attendance.  Absences that impact both schools should be reported at both schools.  Some additional things to keep in mind regarding attendance include:

• Except for calamity days, students must attend classes at the program school when the program school is in session—even if their home school is not in session.  Students will be considered “unexcused absent” if they do not attend.

• The ONLY exception is if a student's home school is closed due to a calamity, such as a snow day.

• If students are late for school and miss their bus, they are to report to the Counselor Department (except at Norton High School; report to the Main Office) so that their program school can be notified.  The student will remain in that office until the next bus.  Once students arrive at the destination school they will follow that school's policies on signing in.
