Copley-Fairlawn High School
The Pharmaceutical Science program is designed for students who want to be critical members of the healthcare team, which is essential to providing patients with safe and effective medication therapy.  This two-year program meets at Copley High School. It includes training in the field of Pharmacy Technology, focusing on theory and hands-on training in medications, law, and inventory skills with the potential to earn the Pharmacy Tech credential. Students completing the Pharmaceutical Science program can go to work immediately in an entry-level position or continue their education for additional certifications and opportunities.
The Pharmaceutical Science program provides training in essential elements of the pharmacy field, such as medical abbreviations, prescription writing and interpretation, drug forms and routes of administration, non-sterile and sterile compounding, and developing relationships between the pharmacist, pharmacy technician, and customers.  The Pharmaceutical Science program and Copley High School have partnered with PioneerRX Pharmacy Software, allowing students to learn in a real-world environment using the most installed software for independent pharmacies.  Students will have an opportunity to enhance their clinical and functional skills by training in a pharmacy system that is innovative, robust, and feature-rich.
