Compact Student Finds Success On-the-job

When students and parents are making important decisions about their options and pathways for the last two years of high school, it's important to realize the power of the unique experiences we can often offer in Career Tech education. Of those experiences there are none more powerful than good "on the job" training. A great example of this is Wadsworth High School Super Senior and Compact Automotive Technologies student Colin Wilson. Colin is a highly talented and motivated student who has a true passion for working on engines. During his senior year he was able to do a paid internship at Summit Toyota, where he learned much from people like General Manager TJ DiSanto, Service Manager Nikki Serrani (pictured), as well as veteran technicians who helped him build his knowledge and skills. Colin's next steps after graduation will be to attend Stark State College to pursue his Toyota specific technician certifications.  He will continue to work at Summit Toyota and pay his college bills (with some tuition help from Summit) as he goes - hopefully graduating debt free or close to it. He is a great living example of our Compact motto by being a student about to graduate who is FOCUSED PREPARED and FUTURE READY! Way to go Mr. Wilson, you make us all COMPACT PROUD!
